FPL prize split calculator

Multiply the entry fee by the number of managers. A twelve-person league at £10 a head is a £120 pot. Then decide what share each prize takes, as a percentage of that total — percentages rather than fixed amounts, so that if two more people join before the deadline the split still works without renegotiating.

There's no official answer, but most leagues land close to 50% / 25% / 15% for the top three, with the last 10% either going to fourth and fifth or to a side prize.

• Small leagues (under 10). Pay two places. Spreading a small pot across four makes every prize meaningless.
• Medium (10–20). Three or four places, plus something for the highest score in a single gameweek.
• Large (20+). Pay five places and reserve 10–15% for monthly or single-gameweek prizes — otherwise most of your league is out of contention by February and stops picking a team.

It's the most effective 10% you can allocate. By spring most of your league can't win the title, and abandoned teams distort everyone else's standings. A prize that resets every week gives the managers who are out of it a reason to keep picking a side until Gameweek 38.

A calculator settles the split. The harder part is the season that follows — remembering who has actually paid, and working out who won the November high score.
